Program Highlights

  • One of the 57 members of the prestigious Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) in the U.S.  Of the more than 4000 universities in the U.S., only 32 of the Council for Higher Education Association (CHEA) accredited universities offer aviation degree programs
  • The university has a flight base and air control system at the nearby Dubuque Airport in the State of Iowa with 22 aircrafts (C172SP G-1000, C172 R, TB20, PA44 Seminole, and 2009 Glass Cockpit Model) and 6 flight simulators (red bird BATDs, 1 AST Hawk-ME, 1 AATD Redbird, and 1 AeroSim CRJ 200)
  • Recently, University of Dubuque was awarded funding from the U.S. Department of Education to purchase a new flight training device; this new flight navigation equipment enables students to gain more advanced and professional flight training, becoming more competitive in the aviation industry.
  •  The University has a close relationship with the U.S. aviation industry, particularly American Eagle.  Outstanding graduates have priority consideration for work opportunities at American Eagle.
  • There is a great demand for aviation professionals in the U.S., China and all developing countries.  For example, analysis shows that in the next 20 years, China will need at least 30,000 new pilots.
  • Aviation management professionals can pursue careers in ground traffic control, airline companies, air traffic control, airport facilities management, airport and airline safety management, customs, airport logistics management, customers service, marketing, and many other aviation-related careers.

Admission Requirements

  • High school diploma or above accredited by the Ministry of Education, and GPA 2.5 or more (priority admission for outstanding mathematics, physics, science)
  • No SAT/ACT score required for international students
  • English Proficiency requirement:  TOEFL iBT79 / IELTS 6.0
  • Conditional admission: If students do not meet the English Proficiency requirement , they will be required to attend the full-time ESL program at Global Language Institute (GLI) to improve their English until they meet the requirement.
  • Transfer student: WES evaluation any college level transcript is required

Fall semester starts in every August.
Spring semester starts in every January
